The Symposium titled “Advanced materials for optical-based devices and methods” hosts five contributions from young researchers who are involved in the preparation of nanostructured materials for advanced applications in plasmonics, energy conversion, electrochromics, organic optoelectronics, photoluminescent displays and scintillators. The systems here described are prepared through a variety of methods that range from chemical synthesis to electrochemical deposition and from nanoscale crystallization to laser-patterning. The resulting functional nanostructured materials/nanosized arrays are characterized as far as their optical and electrical properties are concerned with the aim of evaluating their suitability in the applications of interest. |
